Automated Investment Sweep

Link your commercial checking account with an investment sweep, and we'll automatically invest your idle balances.

How It Works

Each business day, M&T will post all deposits, checks and other debits and credits to your organization's commercial checking account. After the ending balance is calculated, any available funds that exist in excess of a predetermined amount (target balance) will be automatically invested in your selected investment option.

However, your excess funds must be equal to or greater than your minimum investment amount, and they cannot exceed your maximum investment amount (if you have set one) for your selected investment option.

Investment Sweep services can be used in conjunction with Automated Loan Sweep and/or Zero Balance Account (ZBA) services.

Automated Investment Sweep Service Options

​Overnight Investments

These are sweep investments or deposits that M&T makes for you on one business day, sells or liquidates in their entirety, and deposits with earnings back into your organization's commercial checking account on the next business day.

Net Investments

These are sweep investments or deposits that M&T makes for you on one business day and sells or liquidates for you and deposits back into your organization's commercial checking account on a subsequent business day, only if the available balance in your organization's commercial checking account is less than a predetermined amount (or target balance).

Business day is defined as Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays. 
M&T Bank’s Automated Investment Sweep service is provided subject to M&T Bank’s standard Master Treasury Management Services Agreement and Treasury Management Services Product Terms and Conditions for that service.
