The Hispanic Heritage Business Expo

M&T was a sponsor of this event bringing over 50 small businesses in the Greater Bridgeport area together to exhibit their products and services,  and connect with buyers and numerous vendors. This expo was attended by politicians, community leaders, small business organizations and businesses. It is hosted by the Hispanic Small Business Chamber in Bridgeport. In addition to the businesses, resource partners were present, 10 of which were enrolled in the M&T Bank Bridgeport CT Multicultural Small Business Lab. Seeing these entrepreneurs showcase their businesses, network and build relationships, was a proud moment for our bank.

Indian Physician Community Dinner

Fostering relationships within our multicultural communities is incredibly important to M&T Bank. In March of 2023, M&T hosted a dinner for physicians, dentists, and practitioners of Indian and South Asian heritage. This dinner took place at the renowned Indian Restaurant, “Chef Prasad,” in Darien, CT. By hosting this event, M&T has been given the opportunity to better strengthen their relationships within their local communities, in particularly with medical providers within the Indian and South Asian community.

Our executive promise.

Perhaps one of our most pivotal impacts in the past year has been in the service of those constituents in our communities who speak English as a second, or even third or fourth, language. Multi-lingual communities are commonplace; as such, we have embraced the languages of our local communities in our branches—now with branch staff fluent in languages such as Spanish, Korean, Russian, Polish, Mandarin and Burmese. While we recognize that every customer interaction may not be perfect, we can always strive to reduce barriers for customers— whether that be language, accessibility, accommodation or simply being a friendly face.
