Direct Loans
Make up your missed payments by extending the length of your loan.
With Loan Payment Extension, you can bring your loan current by moving one or more monthly payments to the end of the loan. This will advance the maturity date of your loan by the number of months extended.

Bring your account into good standing by making payment arrangements.
Payment Promise is a form you submit to tell us that you plan to make a payment on a past due loan. The form contains details about your promise to pay – how much, when and by what method (online, branch, mail) – and allows you to make payment arrangements with us.

If you're experiencing an extended financial hardship, our Loan Workout program may be able to help. We'll work with you to put your payments back on track by rewriting your existing M&T Bank Direct Loan. This may involve rescheduling the loan over a longer payback period to lower your monthly payment.
